Easy bubble activity and suggested target vocabulary!

1. Set up space with squeezable bubble blower

2. Sit on floor and play with bubbles

3. One parent will model “see” while other parent blows bubbles

4. Look engaged and yell “pop” in an effort to draw child into interaction

5. Once your child is engaged, utilize wait time and look expectantly until child looks up at you!

6. When child does, say “you want more?” pulling more off of the communication board

7. Blow bubbles and say “pop” “pop” while drawing attention to the word on the communication board

8. Say “your turn” touching the symbol on the communication board

9. Let child play with bubbles

10. Other opportunities to model different words should not be ignored but focus more on your two target words!

Remember, children have their own personalities and may not always want to engage when you want to. That's OKAY! It's important not to make this seem like a punishment. If your child isn't interested in bubbles, perhaps you can think of a different activity they may enjoy better. :) You've got this!
